The coffee from last night (this morning? two nights ago?) threw my sleep patterns out of whack. Okay, I’m actually cheating writing this entry. It’s antedated to February 4, but it’s actually one in the morning of February 5 when I started writing this. But let’s just pretend it’s still February 4. I left the office early — if you can call 5:30PM early — because I was already dozing off in front of the computer. I couldn’t keep track of the code I was supposed to be tracing. It wouldn’t help my case any if I started to drop off while driving.
The coffee from last night (this morning? two nights ago?) threw my sleep patterns out of whack. Wait. Didn’t I just say that already? I couldn’t sleep until two in the morning today (yesterday?), and still I woke up at my usual time of four. That means I only had two hours of sleep. I was pretty functional for most of the day, though, but I started to crash late in the afternoon.
Strange how the day just disappears. I put in my usual half hour on the treadmill in the morning, I managed to go to Mass at noon. The rest of the day was spent tracing code. I snuck in a couple of emails twitting some colleagues at school. The rest of the day was just a blur. When I got home at six tonight, I just went to bed and fell asleep. I woke up past midnight. The day disappeared as if to make up for the full day of yesterday.
That’s it. No more coffee in the evenings.
